Dear mbira players (present and future),
MBIRA is planning its first Europe Mbira Camp for August or September 2014, and we would like you to help us to choose dates that you could join us. The concept of Mbira Camp is total immersion in traditional Shona mbira music of Zimbabwe, day and evening, for 7 or 8 days.
The Europe Mbira Camp will be located in the small peaceful village of Hagedorn, Germany (population 107), and will be similar to MBIRA’s other camps.

Mbira Camp is led by Erica Azim, who has been playing traditional Shona mbira for over 40 years, and has shared her passion for mbira with others who now teach mbira around the world. We hope to also bring a Zimbabwean co-teacher.
When you come to an MBIRA Camp, your tuition supports all the work that MBIRA does to support 235 Zimbabwean musicians and instrument makers – thank you!
I look forward to sharing mbira with you. Please forward this to friends who might be interested,
Erica Azim
